Day off

All of us were granted day off from work and it was booked full of sights to see. From morning already we took off with our minibus and to busy streets of Amritsar. And I apologize in advantage the long post this will be.

Our first school was our teachers sponsor school. We were invited as guests of honor and there was approx. 50 children from ages 7-12 greeting us as we walked in. There was gonna be a dance performance for both us and the kids that our teacher, Mrs. Kirjonen had sponsored. It was marvelous! The music was loud and vibrant, the costumes colorful and dashing and day was hot and sunny. Us, kids and locals enjoyed the performance on their places and soon enough us all were invited to dance in the stage as well.

Me with the children.

After learning few Indian dance moves, we once again had to leave and get some lunch at our hotels restaurant.

After and lunch and brief check-up with our teachers, we took heading for the most popular sighting in Amritsar; The Harmandir Sahib, also referred as "The Golden Temple". The whole area was amazing and the atmosphere of the Temple was soothing and relaxed. We walked around the premises barefooted and our heads covered to symbol our respect of the sacred place, also visiting the free kitchen to make some bread for others to eat. After reviewing the pictures I must say that it's probably the most impressive sight I have seen in my entire life.

The busy day came to the end soon enough and all the thing I had seen and witnessed made me weary. So without further ado I went soon to rest my sore feet and puzzled mind.
